Ca$his’ new CD, The County Hound EP, sounds too much like the Game and 50 Cent, except with less talent and more gun references. The beats are decent, as are all beats on CDs produced by Shady Records, including one beat which starts with a strange version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
The County Hound EP is not a horrible CD by any means. I feel most fans of rap music could find one song on the CD which they like, but that is about it. With only one or two songs you might like, I would not call this CD a good value, especially because it only has eight songs on it. If you are planning on purchasing any song from this CD via a service such as iTunes, I would suggest either Gun Rule or Pistol Poppin’.
Overall, I feel the point at which this CD truly fails is in its pathetic attempts at hooks. The hooks are not catchy or upbeat at all. I certainly don’t expect every good song to be catchy, but it is the least you could do with a song if you are not a good lyricist. Eminem has one guest appearance in the song Pistol Poppin’ and it is a welcomed break from the monotony that is the rest of the CD. Ca$his should take a lesson from 50 Cent and attempt to make some “club bangers” if he ever wants to be successful.
